BIO

Camilo Villoria is a Senior Fashion and Textile Designer whose practice operates at the intersection of fashion design, textile exploration, product development and interdisciplinary research. He approaches fashion as a cultural language capable of translating complex ideas into commercially viable products with technical rigour and cultural relevance.

Originally trained in Fine Arts before specialising in Fashion Design, he has developed a personal methodology that combines conceptual research, material exploration and strategic product development. Rather than understanding collections as groups of garments, he conceives them as integrated systems in which concept, construction, materiality, production and commercial objectives must operate as a coherent whole.

Throughout his career, he has led collection development from initial research through industrial production, working across ready-to-wear, textile design, print development, collection architecture and cross-functional collaboration between creative, technical and production teams. His practice extends beyond product design to include the development of creative methodologies, collaborative leadership and the integration of design, technical and production processes into unified systems of work.

His work is grounded in the belief that fashion is far more than the production of garments: it is a research methodology capable of generating knowledge, preserving cultural memory and constructing new systems of meaning. From this perspective, he investigates the relationships between identity, emotion, material culture, ethics and social context to understand how they can be translated into products that create meaningful connections without compromising commercial viability.

He is currently focused on joining international fashion houses where conceptual thinking, textile research and product development are understood as interdependent disciplines. His objective is to develop creative systems that transform complex ideas into fashion products in which concept, materiality, strategy and production function as a single language.
