THIS PRINT WAS DEVELOPED AS PART OF MY WORK AT MARIA ELENA VILLAMIL. THE MATERIAL EXPLORATION FOR THE SS26 COLLECTION DREW FROM YVES KLEIN’S ANTHROPOMETRIES, REINTERPRETING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BODY, MOVEMENT, AND MARK-MAKING.
As a result, some of the collection's prints were created using only the body as a painting tool.

The clouds in this print were created through an exploratory process combining cotton, acrylic paint, and digital illustration. I wanted the background to feel realistic, so I experimented with painting cotton, photographing it, and transforming it into a sky that felt both soft and highly detailed.

FOR THIS PRINT, I USED TRADITIONAL PAINTING TECHNIQUES WITH WATERCOLOR, ACRYLIC PAINT, AND COLORED PENCILS. THE DESIGN REFERENCED KLIMT’S PICTORIAL TECHNIQUE, IN WHICH THE SEQUENCE OF COLOR APPLICATION ALLOWED THE IMAGE TO BE BUILT THROUGH LAYERS OF OVERLAPPING BRUSHSTROKES.
Floral appliqués crafted from Italian leather and Swarovski crystals.
These flowers emerged from a material exploration of leather for a collection centered on the reconciliation between the body and sexuality from a queer perspective. Through crystals, embroidery, pearls, and floral elements, I brought BDSM-inspired faux leather silhouettes into dialogue with a vision in which the exploration of desire becomes an act of self-care.
